Music is a means to bring us closer to experience this need of learning how to listen a question with no answer. ‘The Sound of the Gods’ tells the story of the sound that was born, lived and transformed itself into something unknown, but still could be felt.
The poet Omar Aramayo, with whom I have a long friendship, published ‘The Gods’, text in which he narrates Andean myths in a totally personal language. May these sound myths be an answer from this side of the river: music and poetry are strongly connected.
The 10 songs or stories musically narrated are bound by rhythm that are born from the sound of the nature and include the voices of the ethnic groups of profound Peru, thus creating a choir of living Gods.
Rhythm is to music what heart is to body…
