Job Title: Hadoop Developer / Admin

Duration: 6 Months

Position Type: Contract to perm

Location: Plano,TX Job Description:
Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Computer Science, related field or Equivalent work experience

• 8+ years of professional experience in the field of information and technology.
  
• 5+ years of experience in Data Management/ data warehouse;
  
• 2 years hands on experience with Hadoop using Cloudera
  
• 5 years of Java experience 
  
• 2 years of experience with Linux and database integration·
  
• Experience in multi-threaded application
  
• Experience with High Performance Computing and/or Grid Computing is a plus
  
• Experience with Data Virtualization Solutions is a plus
  
• Experience in SQL debugging skills
  
• Experience with UNIX scripting.
  
• Experience with NoSQL technologies is a plus
  
• Strong interpersonal relationship and communication skills.
  
• Strong technical documentation skills.
  
• Strong analytical skills.
  
• Strong organizational skills.
  
• Ability to multi-task /change focus quickly.
  
• End-to-end Incident and Problem resolution for Hadoop multi-tenancy platform and respective Applications.
  
• Responsible to ensure that the applications met their required service levels
  
• Responsible to support process improvements to continuously improve the stability and performance of the applications.
  
• Identify system bottlenecks and opportunities for processing improvements
  
• Application wellness
  
• Prioritize workload, provide timely and accurate resolutions.
  
• Perform in-depth research and identify sources of production issues.
  
• Effectively perform root cause analysis of issues and report the outcome to business community and Management.
  
• Develop / utilize core support tools and processes to perform work while improving day-to-day practices for support team members with the goal of delivering service improvements to the business.
  
• Coordinate and work with the global production support team
  
• Feeling of personal accountability for all areas directly or indirectly supporting the business/service area for which they are responsible. 
  
• Willingness to drive people on all sides of an issue to a common understanding and then drive them toward resolution.
  
• Should be able to clearly communicate ideas in technical or business terms with their peers across IT.
  
• Understands tasks and role, and does not need daily reassurances, yet maintains an open dialogue with all of the stakeholders.
