The Power Distribution Tech is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Reedy Creek Energy Services electric utility transmission, distribution and industrial system. The field service position may include work from elevated platforms and confined spaces throughout the Walt Disney World Parks and Resort property.Responsibilities:Operate electric utility power distribution protection and industrial electrical systemsProvide emergency response and service restoration in utility system outage conditionsPerform preventive maintenance on utility power distribution and industrial systemsConduct testing, calibration, and repair on electric utility, power distribution, and industrial equipment and systemsCast members may be required to handle cleaning chemicals and suppliesAdditional Personal Protective Equipment (face shields, goggles, refillable hand sanitizers, etc.) may be requiredBasic Qualifications:Valid Florida class A or B commercial driver's license OR ability to obtain Class A or B Permit with air brake endorsementJourneyman ElectricianExperience with power distribution, generation systems and associated controlsExperience in power distribution system substation operations and protection systems and devicesExperience operating power distribution systems with nominal ratings of 69 kV, 12 kV, 5 kV and belowUnderstanding of OSHA and industry standard lock-out tag-out safety proceduresExperience in industry standard switching and tagging procedures for high voltage transmission and distributionAbility to read electrical schematics to aid in control system troubleshooting of power distribution systemsPossess the ability to interpret blueprintsAbility to lift up to 50 poundsExcellent written and interpersonal communication skillsProficiency in standard office software programs and mobile electronic devicesPreferred Qualifications:Associates degree in an engineering related fieldAdditional Information:At Walt Disney World, we are makers and doers!
