Mundo Nuevo (New World) is the result of the quartet’s music laboratory: a mix of Afro Peruvian music, electronic, classic jazz, marinera, blues, Caribbean, Arabs and African rhythms, combined to the experience, sensibility and impressive skills of improvisation of the band. This release is a tribute to “Chocolate” Algendones, former percussionist of the band who passed away in 2004, with Perujazz’s interpretation of “El Plebeyo” in Panalivio version, an ancient Afro Peruvian rhythm.
